José María Vitier , one of the most prominent composers of Cuba, wrote this Mass which premiered in the country with the participation of singer-songwriters Silvio Rodriguez, Amauri Perez and Exaudi choir, known worldwide for its artistic quality. Within the framework of the International Church Music Festival, produced by Fundación Teatro Nacional Sucre, the choir comes to Ecuador to present the local premiere of this work with soloists Maria Felicia Pérez, Director of the choir, Marisabel Albuja and Carlos Grijalva accompanied by a chamber orchestra under the musical direction of Jorge Oviedo Jaramillo.

The Mass has been considered the most important composer's catalog and has been performed in America and Europe.

MISA CUBAN

Composed by Jose Maria Vitier. It is dedicated to the Virgin of Cobre, the Patroness of Cuba. Is Conceived from the universality of Marian devotion to the specificity of Cuban culture. The work, considered the largest catalog of the composer, consists of three songs to the Virgin in Castilian as well as the traditional parts of the Mass: Kyrie eleison, Gloria, Sanctus, Agnus Dei, Hosanna and Salve Regina, all created liturgical texts in Latin. The composer of the European heritage of sacred music and Cuban musical tradition and popular cults.

The format used includes soloists, chorus, small string orchestra, organ, piano, and percussion clavicemballo.

For the local premiere of this work in Ecuador, will feature prominently Exaudi choir, the best vocal group in Cuba, laureate of the highest accolades in the world vocal music. This choir is directed by teacher Maria Felicia Perez, who also participate as a soloist.

EXAUDI Chamber Choir (Latin: Listen!) Was founded by its Director Maria Felicia Pérez Arroyo in 1987. Enjoys national and international reputation for success that has won at shows in prestigious venues in several countries, her album and awards received in the special events where she has appeared.
Members EXAUDI Chamber Choir are graduates of the specialties of choral conducting, musicology, guitar, French Horn, Voice, Flute and Percussion at the Superior Institute of Art and the Conservatory Amadeo Roldán. " His extensive repertoire includes the most important coral creations European, Latin American and Cuban since the fifteenth century to the present.
EXAUDI has been acclaimed in over 50 festivals, has toured and performed in the most important concert halls in Cuba, Hungary, Venezuela, Spain, Bulgaria, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, France, Canada, Belgium, Italy, Ecuador, Argentina, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, United States, Brazil and Turkey.

Music Director

Composer and Director. He studied at the National Conservatory of Music in Quito, specializing in piano. Study Analysis, Composition, Conducting and specialty classes with leading foreign masters nationals. Winner unique expression Songwriting Contest Coral in Spain, in 1996, with the work Tocancias , which was later published in Spain and the Canary Islands Government. Honorable Mention winner in the seventh edition of Coral Speech Contest in Spain in 2001, with the work The Cuckoo's Ilaló . Alternate Director of the Quito Metropolitan Symphonic Band, with whom he made the first recording of the Symphonic Poem "Atahualpa", by Luis Humberto Salgado. In October 2007 he was responsible for assembling and musical direction for the world premiere of the work Bulletin and Elegy of the Mitas , composer Maiguashca Messiah. Chief Conductor of the Symphonic Band for two years and Music Director of the Fundación Teatro Nacional Sucre, until November 2009. He is currently Director of the Symphonic Orchestra of National Music Conservatory, professor at the same institution and Director of the Ensemble Quito 6.
